After a long struggle gods agreed that enough time and energy was wasted in senseless battles between immortals. After short discussion (they have spent only couple of centuries) they finally came to agreement. Gods decided to grant special powers to those mortals who join their cause. Temples were built and high priests were chosen to provide spiritual guidance for other mortals. Each high priest has special item from his god which holds great power. This item is a main reason for raiding enemies temples.

It is a hard task and a great honor at the same time to be a follower of god. You put your life and soul on altar of your god cause. You do so because it's your way of life. You should never choose a religion because you want to gain power. If you are favoured enough in eyes of your god he'll help you in your journeys.

Immortal leader of the religion watches deeds of his followers and looks deep in their hearts. Of course no god is interested in weakening his power, but cutting a rotten part can hardly be called weakening, don't you think so? If you fail in the eyes of your god, your only hope is that your soul will remain unaffected... Some gods might react weired in case if you misused power you were granted, so you should think twice before using those powers.
